👋 Hi there! I’m Krystal.

I’m a PhD candidate in the Human-Centered Computing program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, advised by Dr. Foad Hamidi.

My research focuses on the intersection of human-computer interaction, accessibility, and assistive technology. Through community-engaged research and participatory design, I investigate how physical environments, technologies, and programs can work together to support more inclusive participation in technology-rich making, including for youth with autism. I also explore how digital fabrication technologies, such as 3D printing, can expand access to do-it-yourself assistive technology and the infrastructure and support ecosystems needed to make that access possible in practice. I translate research into practice by co-creating inclusive programs, actionable design guidance, and accessibility checklists with community partners.
